Basic Rentals Covid Information

Basic Rentals always works hard to keep our vehicles clean and hygienic. We have always prided ourselves in our high cleaning standards for all vehicles and will continue to do so. Our vehicles are always disinfected between use, however  we are now spraying  sanitiser in between uses as well. Our health and safety practices are reviewed regularly.

Please be do not be offended that we ask you to keep our staff and yourselves safe. We ask for your patience as we all adjust to a constantly changing way of doing things. These are difficult and trying times for everyone and we are all working hard to keep ourselves and you safe.

If you are sick, please stay away!!!

Level 4 Information

We are closed at Level 4. All bookings will be automatically cancelled. There will be no one at the yard. All short term hires will be terminated and money refunded. We will contact everyone if the hire is having to be terminated.

Level 3 Information

 If there are border controls, with just Auckland at this level, you will need to check if your move will mean going outside of the  border area. Please check the covid website for accurate borders.

 To keep our staff and customers safe during this pandemic we have also implemented the following:

  • All customers are required to maintain the required 2 mitres social distancing.
  • A management plan has been created to help guide staff and customers during this time.
  • Records of all customers who enter the yard are kept. There is a covid tracer QR code for scanning at the door as well as manual recording keeping for customers that do not have the app. 
  • No customers are allowed in the building. There is a desk set up at the front door for customers. 
  • Only those with bookings will be served. Booking information will be used as part of contact tracing should the Ministry of Health require it.
  • All quotes and queries must be made online or via the phone.
  • Hand sanitiser is available for all customers to use.
  • All things that customers touch such as the eftpos machine, the desk and pens are cleaned and sanitised between each use.
  • No cash will be accepted. All payments must be made either using eftpos or a direct deposit into our account.
  • All instructions on the site or given by staff must be followed.
  • Customers are served at the door with no contact with staff. 2m distances are to be maintained while vehicle inspections are carried out. 
  • Where appropriate, staff will wear facemasks or gloves.
  • Staff will maintain a 1m distance between each other. 

  Covid Level 2 Information

  • Records of all customers who enter the yard are kept. There is a covid tracer QR code for scanning, near the door and several other places around the customer area as well as manual records for those without a scanner.  Booking information will be used as part of contact tracing should the Ministry of Health require it.
  • We operate a one in, one out system. There are 2 places customers can stand in the customer area; one at the service desk and one other nearer the door. Please respect these marked spaces. 
  • 2m distances are to be maintained while vehicle inspections are carried out. 
  • There is a perspex sheet up at the desk to allow safe space between the customer and the staff.
  • Hand sanitiser is available for all customers to use.
  • All things that customers touch such as the eftpos machine, the desk and pens are cleaned and sanitised between each use.
  • All instructions on the site or given by staff must be followed.
  • Where appropriate, staff will wear facemasks or gloves.
  • We prefer phone or internet queries to help limit the people on site.
  • Staff will maintain a 1m distance between each other. 
  • General cleaning and sanitising completed daily of all non customer areas.

Covid Level 1 Information

There is a covid tracer QR code for scanning, near the door and several other places around the customer area as well as manual records for those without a scanner.  Booking information will be used as part of contact tracing should the Ministry of Health require it.
  • There is a perspex sheet up at the desk to allow safe space between the customer and the staff.

  • All instructions on the site or given by staff must be followed.
  • General cleaning and sanitising completed  weekly of all non customer areas, or more often if needed.
